Nursery’s Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers,
We hope everyone had a lovely Easter holiday.
Thank you to all the parents who have helped in nursery recently, it has been a great support.
Thank you to Mr McCourt (Tom’s Daddy) for coming into nursery to talk about his job as a police officer; the children really enjoyed dressing up in police uniforms.
This terms theme:
We have a very busy term planned for your children this term; our topic is ‘Animals and their babies’.  The children will be learning about, the correct names of young animals and how different animals are born and cared for.  Nursery will be receiving an incubator with ‘living eggs’ so the children will be able to observe chicks hatching from eggs. The eggs arrive on the 4th May.
Our indoor role play area has become a flower shop and our outdoor role play area has become a railway station café and ticket office.
Plants:
We would like to ask for your help in making our nursery garden colourful for summer.  Our spring flowers are now beginning to die and we would be very grateful if each child could bring in a bedding plant during the week beginning 4th May so that they may plant it in our garden, care for it and watch it grow.
 Students:
Next week we are having two first year teaching students from Edge Hill University Miss Gillison and Miss Gattens to join our team for four weeks on their teaching practise.
Nursery visit:
We are hoping to take the children on a visit to the Blue Planet Aquarium during the first week after the halfterm holiday. The visit will introduce next terms theme ‘Under the sea’.  Please see a member of staff if you have not received a letter.
Sun hats:
Please don’t forget to send in your child’s sun hat and apply your child with sun cream before coming to nursery on sunny days! We are not allowed to apply sun cream to your children.

Thank you for all the help and support you continue to give us!
