We are delighted that you are considering joining us here at Highfield St Matthew's CE Primary! We are very proud of our amazing children, ambitious curriculum, and dedicated staff.
We usually hold a formal open afternoon in the Autumn Term. so you can see the school in action. We also offer pre-arranged tours with the Early Years Leader or headteacher. If you want to arrange a tour please contact the School Office.
Any parent considering applying for a place for their children at Highfield St Matthew's is strongly advised to come and pay us a visit, so that you make make this important decision with all the facts. Choosing a school for your child is important so feel free to ask whatever questions you wish.

In-year transfer applications
Appeals for children refused a place at a preferred school as a result of an in-year transfer application will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
September 2023 entry
Appeals for children refused a place at a preferred school for admission to Year 7 or Reception class in September 2023 will be heard according to the following statutory timescales:

Parents/carers will be notified of their appeal date at least 10 school days before the hearing.
A copy of the school’s statement of case will be sent to each parent/carer 5 school days before the hearing.
Any additional evidence parents/carers wish to submit in support of their appeal must be sent to the clerk at least 7 school days before the hearing. Any evidence not submitted by this deadline may not be considered by the independent appeal panel.
