Welcome to Reception

We provide first hand experiences through play which reflect children’s personal interests in order to develop their natural curiosity and motivation to learn.

Our learning environments are happy, safe and stimulating places with opportunities for children to enjoy learning, develop confidence and self esteem and build good relationships with others.

Welcome to our Reception page. Here we will upload information, pictures and all kinds of exciting things showing you what we have been learning about in classes.

The final hurdle

What a fabulous year we have had so far. And in the blink of an eye your childs first year at primary’s school isn’t early over and our children are showing that they are nearly ready to tidy that big step into Year 1!

This term we are learning all about minibeasts. The children are thoroughly enjoying digging in the mud and using non fiction books to help them identify the minibeasts they find. Our role pay area is now a Garden centre and the children are becoming masters of money! They are practicing their counting skills in the context of money and recognising that each coin is worth a different amount

Our trip to Haigh Hall

We had a fabulous time on our trip to Haigh Hall. The children thoroughly enjoyed hunting for mini beasts and building dens in the trees. The behavior of the children was commented on by the staff who delivered the session. We are very proud to say they were absolutely fantastic and a credit to us and you! Here are a couple of snapshots the day.

Sports day!

Sports day was a huge success. The children had so much fun and were covered head to toe in stickers. Well done to all the children involved and a huge thank you to Mrs Higgins for organising such a wonderful event.
