School Sports Premium Funding

In April 2013, the Government announced new funding of £150 million for Physical Education (PE) and sport. This funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision.

This funding has continued for all mainstream and state-funded schools with primary phase.  Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

Schools must spend the funding on improving their provision of PE and sport.

Sports Premium funding used to raise the profile of sport within our school, to engage as many pupils s possible in sporting activity, to encourage competition within our school and among schools in the area, and for targeted children in encouraging health and physical activity.
