The Greater Manchester Music Hub Singing Challenge
At The Greater Manchester Music Hub singing challenge in Salford, a school from each local authority went to represent and we were the lucky representatives of Wigan. It was a celebration of what would have been Queen Victorias 200th birthday. The song was a celebration of what the Victorians did for us. There were 300 children there on the day Singing in Peel Park, a park that was visited by 80,000 people when Victoria came to visit. The event was broadcast on Salford City radio at 2.15pm in the afternoon. The children had a great time engaged in activities in and around the park and museum, activities such as a sculpture challenge, finding hats in the art work and talks by local people about Victorian life in Manchester.
