Opening and closing times
The school gates open at 8.35am, and pupils are invited to come straight into school from 8.40am to settle themselves for the day. Registration is from 8.50-8.55am.

The end of the school day is at 3.15pm. Please pick your children up promptly at the end of the school day, as children often become distressed if parents are late. If you are inadvertently delayed, please contact us at school.

Our official opening times are 8.50am-3.15pm. Over a typical week this amounts to 32h 5m. 

Collective Worship
There is an act of collective worship each morning. This is led by staff, clergy from Wigan West Hub, or other visitors. On Fridays we hold a Celebration Worship. 

Lunchtime
Lunchtimes at Highfield St Matthew's are happy and calm. There are activities on the school playground every day and pupils make use of our Trim Trail and Outdoor Gym. Classes go into the hall to eat lunch. A member of the Senior Leadership Team is always on duty over the lunch period.
